Chapter 3 - New guy from Italy
*From now on, the story would be from the author's point of view*
The following day, Akane's mom, Minami, went up to Akane's room to check how she was feeling. She placed the back of her right hand to feel her forehead. It felt hot so she took Akane's thermometer. It read 41 degrees. She took out a towel, placed it under running tap water and placed it on Akane's forehead. She watched Akane for a few minutes before bending to her knees to check how Michi was. She found that Michi had a constant temperature and found nothing wrong with him until she remembered that if the vampire that owns a cat that was loyal to him/her, that cat would share the same fate of its owner. She stood up and said softly,
"You both must be having a hard time, aren't you?"
She then left the room and called the principal of Midori Junior High. She told him that Akane would not be attending school for a while because she was sick. After she put down the telephone, she heard a knock on the door. She opened it to see a black hair guy, around 187 cm tall with a black small sling bag.
"Ciao. My name is Kazuki Hiroshi. I'm from Italy, one of the cousin of the Akihiko family."
"Oh. Please come in.", she said with a smile.
He showed gentlemanly courtesy by allowing Akane's mom to sit down on the sofa before he did.
"You must also be in the Akira club in Italy, where you met Akane and came to Japan as soon as possible when you received the news from your brother's guardian that she was sick. You also want to protect her and make her yours right?"
"How did you..." he asked surprised.
"I'm a vampire from the Eshima family. I read the minds of people but there is one person whom I can't read."
"Who is that?"
"The person sleeping with a fever beside Michi in a room."
"Can I see her?"
"Yea. Actually, I want you to take care of her while I visit my family in England. I heard that my great-great-grandfather is ill."
"You can put her under my care."
" I maybe coming back like five years later. I do permit you to have a relationship with her but if I hear that she is killed, I'll slaughter you. Understand?" She gave Kazuki a warning look.
"I got that, ma'am" he said happily, saluting to her.
Akane's mom then proceeded to take her packed luggage and dragged it to the leaving room. She then gave last minute instructions to Kazuki.
"You only had a sling bag with you so you have very little clothes right? Here," she handed him two credit cards and the house key. "Take it. It's a credit card made especially for you and Akane. My older brother predicted that a girl named Miyuki Kozakura (AN: Akane's real name) and she would be left under a care of Kazuki Hiroshi." Kazuki looked at her and said, amazed,
"Woah. You're family is full of amazing people with amazing supernatural powers."
"Thank you for your compliment and go out with Akane-chan after she wakes up. You might not know this but, she loves to shop. She'll reveal it and other of her personalities to you once you get close enough to her. I've also enrolled you in the same school and made a special request to get you into the same class as her so that you can be with her. Good luck on that and take care!"
"I will and thank you!"
She smiled as she left the house. She then rode a taxi to the airport, where her husband was, waiting for her. In the house, Kazuki went to Akane's room, where a beautiful girl with silky, scarlet hair was down with a high fever. He replaced the towel that was on her forehead with a new one and sat down on her bad beside her. He played with her hair and talked to her.
It was the tenth day since Akane's parents left Japan and Akane and Michi had still not woken up. Akane's fever had been constantly rising everyday by degree higher than the previous day. After Kazuki had wiped her hands, feet and face, he sat down on his bed and said,
"Will you wake up if I kissed you?"
He looked at her soft lips and bend down to kiss her gently. Suddenly, a miracle happened. Michi said "Nya!" which sounds like a welcome to Kazuki. Kazuki then opens his eyes to find Akane staring at him. He broke away and blushed.
"Thank you for waking me up, Kazuki-kun" she smiled at him. He rarely sees that smile as she was the type, to him, that would never smile.
"Nya!" Michi said, teasing Kazuki.
* hiccup*
"Oh, Kazuki-kun you have a hiccup. I'll get you a glass of water." As she was about to get up, Kazuki ran to Akane's bathroom. Worried, Akane knocked on the bathroom door and asked,
"Are you okay, Kazuki-kun?"
"Yea. *hiccup*"
"You dun sound like you are. I'll get you a glass of water."
"No need to. See, my hiccup is gone." he said, trying to hold his hiccup but failed to do so.
*hiccup*
"Hmm, let's make a deal. I'll get you a glass of water to cure your hiccups or you'll open up the door."
"But..I..*hiccup*"
"*pfft* I bet your blushing inside right?"
"Nya!" Michi said, agreeing.
"No, I'm not!" Kazuki said. "Do you know that your parents left Japan?" trying to change the subject.
"Yeah. I heard it while I was asleep. I also heard your wishes."
Inside, Kazuki blushed more.
"Pretend that you didn't hear anything."
"Nope. Actually, your wish, about me and you, in a relationship, I accept."
Kazuki, shocked, blushed profusely and once it subsided, he opened the door.
"Why?"
"You don't want it?"
"No..I meant why would you accept me?"
"Cos' of how you treated me when I was sick. Actually, if you hate it, take it as a punishment for not waking me up earlier."
"But, I like it."
"I'm sure you do." she smiled at him and kissed him gently at the cheeks.
"What's for lunch?" Akane asked curiously, as she held Kazuki's hands with hers.
"What do you want?"
"Hmm...",holding both of Kazuki's hand and hers in front of her lips, "I want pizza."
"Sure. What flavour?" They started walking towards the stairs.
"Barbecue Chicken and 7 Cheese."
"Still the same as in Italy. However, you're showing me some of the personalities that you have not shown me in Italy."
"Well, we're in a relationship so, I have to tell you everything, right?"
He looked down.
"What if I can't tell you everything that I know. Will you be mad?" Both of them stopped walking and Kazuki looked into Akane's eyes.
"Nope I won't. I know that you have a reason to do so."
Akane let go of Kazuki's hands and placed her left hand on his right cheek to assure him. Kazuki smiled but still felt regretful.
"Well, if you want to make it up to me," she paused as they started to walk again, "Let's go shopping. Mom had given you two credit cards and that you only brought your passport and your documents, right?"
"Yeah."
"Let's eat first, let me take a quick shower and we're off to the mall."
Kazuki nodded and Michi gave an irritated look.
"Michi, why are you giving that look?"
"Nya!" he said angrily.
Akane pat him on the head and said,
"Don't worry, although you may not receive the same attention as before, Kazuki-kun will also be giving you some attention."
"Nya." he asked
"About that guy? I'll invite him when he is free."
"Nya." he said happily and rubbed his head on Kazuki's jeans. After that, he leap onto the sofa and slept peacefully.
"So let's start ordering? I'm famished"
"Yeah. I'm also famished."
During their lunch, (AN: They ate the pizza for lunch) they discussed about how they are going to live in this house and how they will act in public. They left for the mall and they reached home around 8pm. When they opened the door, they saw a stranger sleeping on the sofa, peacefully.

Chapter 2 - A small incident
When I reached my house that evening, I dropped my bag on the sofa and sat on it, exhausted. I thought to myself, 'Finally! The hideous day has has ended!'
My mom walked in and asked as she sat beside me on the sofa, concerned,
"You look very tired, Akane-chan." She touched my forehead with the back of her left hand. I pushed it away and said,
"I'm fine *sniff* mom."
"No you're not. You're having a fever. Quickly go up your room and wait for me. Michi-kun will accompany you in your bed while I make a chicken tortellini soup for you."
"Mom, you don't have to. *sniff*"
""Just go up, kay?"
"Kay. *sniff*"
I went up to the third floor of the house and a black and white stripes furball was waiting for me.
"Michi, *sniff* you're here."
"Nya." he told me. Then, he pushed my bedroom's door to let me in before him. I walked to my bed and lied on it.
As I stared up at the ceiling, the image started to blur. I tried to make it clearer but instead it made it more blur. When I was about to lose my consciousness, I felt a tongue licking me. I thought it was some kind of pervert who managed to sneak into my room. I pushed whoever it was away and that person landed onto the cold, hard floor. I was still on my back, facing the ceiling, wiping the saliva off my face. As I was wiping the saliva off, I could smell blood. It made me feel giddy as I do not like the smell of blood. I was curious to know who licked me so I walked to the culprit. My sight starts to get blur and I could not recognize a thing. However, as I went closer, I could recognize the person that licked me. It was not a person but it was a cat. My precious cat.
"Michi." I said shockingly as I watch him, lying motionlessly on the floor. I quickly ran to my bathroom to look for my first aid kit. I shakily held the kit between both hands and placed them on my bed. I then proceeded to placing Michi on my bed so that I can heal him. I opened the kit, and took a bottle of alcohol. I had to hold the bottle near my eye to confirm that it is a bottle of alcohol and nothing else as my sight worsen. I took a cotton swab and dipped it into the alcohol and rubbed it gently against the wound. Michi let out meow that was equivalent to a scream of a human. I bandaged his wound with a cloth as my strength began to fade. I could not hold out any longer and I had finished what I wanted to do so I gave in and let darkness.

Chapter 1 - First day of school
~ring~ ~ring~
I covered my mouth, let out a yawn and stretched my arms and legs. I then grabbed my alarm clock and looked at the time. It made me fall off of my bed and onto the cold hard ground.
*thud*
"Akane-chan, are you alright there?" shouted mom, worriedly from the kitchen.
"I'm alright, mom." I replied to her.
I reluctantly dragged myself to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I glanced at my alarm clock and thought inside my mind, 'Holy smurfs! I'm late! Man, if I don't go quickly I'll get into detention class.' I wore my beige uniform, which I think is too plain, hastily and grabbed my school bag. I ran down the flight of stairs in 3 seconds (almost trip) and put on my socks and shoes when my mom asked,
"Not eating your breakfast today, Akane-chan?"
"Yeah. I don't have time to eat. Running late!" I got up and shouted,
"Sorry!"
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me to the school gate only to find none of the school councilor committee there. Then, I felt dumb to have forgotten today's reporting time to school was an hour later than usual, which meant that I was not late. I let out a sigh of relief. While gasping for air, I went to my new classroom.
Most of my new classmates were already here, mingling with each other. They probably also had forgotten about the reporting time was one hour later. I sat at an empty seat by the window and took a look outside. I was observing the beautiful garden when a soft voice interrupted me. I turned and looked at the person, wondering why he called me. When he looked at me, I swear I heard 'woah'. That was normal for me to hear as ever since elementary, whenever students, especially boys, look at me, they'll say that. I figured that this seat was his so I asked,
"Um, is this yours?"
"Huh? What?" He asked. His reply made me realized that I broke him off when he was deep in his thoughts. I pointed to the table in front of me.
"Oh.",he said, "Um, yeah. It's mine but no worries, I got an empty seat here so..."
Our conversation was broke off when a girl came over and laid her school bag on the table.
"Sorry, but new girl. THIS IS MY GUY! I'm sure you know what it means right?" she grabbed some of my silky, scarlet hair and pulled it. I manage to keep my scream inside my mouth by biting my lips and I saw her giggled. Many of the my other classmates just stood by and looked at what was happening while the rest just didn't bother. The guy who spoke to me just now, wanted to help but could not for a certain reason.
"Tch. Trying to show off eh, new girl?", she said, pulling my hair even harder. I could not keep my anger anymore so I reversed the situation. Now, I was holding her hair like how she held mine but she was squirming, grabbing my hands to try to let them release her hair and she was screaming,
"Let! GO!"
I heard a boy said, "Woah! There's a catfight here between the new girl and Shigeru's girlfriend."
Then the door creaked open and out came the principal.
"Principal, order this damn girl to release me. See! I may lose lots of strands of hair and you'll be responsible for it!" the girl was screaming her head off that her face went red.
"Release her, Akane-chan" he said in a normal voice. I did what I was told and shifted her away from my area. I sat down at my chair, place my right arm, comfortably on the table, placing my right hand on my cheeks and continued looking at the garden outside the window as if nothing had happened. I was pretending to look outside the window but actually, I was listening at how the conversation with the principal and the girl was going on. I also felt that many eyes were staring at me in awe.
"Principal! Why didn't you shout at her?! SHE pulled my precious hair! Do you know how EXPENSIVE it is to dye and perm my hair?" shouted the girl.
I turned so that my face was facing the principal and said,
"Precious? You called your hair precious?" I asked her.
"Yes. Tch. You admire it don't you? Continue to. You will not be able to afford it anyway." she boasted.
"Really? I bet your family could not even afford a sports car for you and even if I may not be able to afford that hairstyle, which I don't think I would even as it looks terrible, I'm content with my own hair."
"Are you showing off to the young mistress of the Minori family? The heir of the..." I broke her away as I found her too irritating and found it quite amusing teasing her.
"Minori business? Minori household? Minori inheritance?" I scoffed.
"WHAT?! Don't you DARE annoy me!"
"Annoy you? Nope. I wouldn't dare cos' you're not worth my time."
I heard some of the guys in my class, including the principal, said 'ouch'.
"Why you!"
Before she could say another word, the principal interrupted with a fake cough,
"Ahem! Sorry, to interrupt, but I need to introduce you guys the transfer student and will you get back to your class, Leiko Minori?" the principal told her.
"Argh! Just you wait, new girl. I'll get you someday!" she said as she walked out of the room.
"You'll never beat me at it." I shouted to her.
I think I heard her say "shut up!"
"That was a nice way to teach her a lesson, Akane-chan. Would you mind to introduce yourself to the class?"
I walked up to the front of the class and faced them. They were looking at me eagerly waiting for my introduction.
"My name is Akane Hayami. Nice to meet you and please guide me along the way." I looked at them with no expression and everyone gave me a round of applause. Some even whistled which I think was weird.
I went back to my seat and when I did the principal made his way to the door. Then he suddenly said,
"Akane-chan. Please tell me if you have any difficulties with anything, kay?"
"Yeah, sure." I gave him a glare and that reassured him that my day would perfectly be fine. Well, at least that's what he thought.

"Oh.",he said, "Um, yeah. It's mine but no worries, I got an empty seat here so..."
Our conversation was broke off when a girl came over and laid her school bag on the table.
"Sorry, but new girl. THIS IS MY GUY! I'm sure you know what it means right?" she grabbed some of my silky, scarlet hair and pulled it. I manage to keep my scream inside my mouth by biting my lips and I saw her giggled. Many of the my other classmates just stood by and looked at what was happening while the rest just didn't bother. The guy who spoke to me just now, wanted to help but could not for a certain reason.
"Tch. Trying to show off eh, new girl?", she said, pulling my hair even harder. I could not keep my anger anymore so I reversed the situation. Now, I was holding her hair like how she held mine but she was squirming, grabbing my hands to try to let them release her hair and she was screaming,
"Let! GO!"
I heard a boy said, "Woah! There's a catfight here between the new girl and Shigeru's girlfriend."
Then the door creaked open and out came the principal.
"Principal, order this damn girl to release me. See! I may lose lots of strands of hair and you'll be responsible for it!" the girl was screaming her head off that her face went red.
"Release her, Akane-chan" he said in a normal voice. I did what I was told and shifted her away from my area. I sat down at my chair, place my right arm, comfortably on the table, placing my right hand on my cheeks and continued looking at the garden outside the window as if nothing had happened. I was pretending to look outside the window but actually, I was listening at how the conversation with the principal and the girl was going on. I also felt that many eyes were staring at me in awe.
"Principal! Why didn't you shout at her?! SHE pulled my precious hair! Do you know how EXPENSIVE it is to dye and perm my hair?" shouted the girl.
I turned so that my face was facing the principal and said,
"Precious? You called your hair precious?" I asked her.
"Yes. Tch. You admire it don't you? Continue to. You will not be able to afford it anyway." she boasted.
"Really? I bet your family could not even afford a sports car for you and even if I may not be able to afford that hairstyle, which I don't think I would even as it looks terrible, I'm content with my own hair."
"Are you showing off to the young mistress of the Minori family? The heir of the..." I broke her away as I found her too irritating and found it quite amusing teasing her.
"Minori business? Minori household? Minori inheritance?" I scoffed.
"WHAT?! Don't you DARE annoy me!"
"Annoy you? Nope. I wouldn't dare cos' you're not worth my time."
I heard some of the guys in my class, including the principal, said 'ouch'.
"Why you!"
Before she could say another word, the principal interrupted with a fake cough,
"Ahem! Sorry, to interrupt, but I need to introduce you guys the transfer student and will you get back to your class, Leiko Minori?" the principal told her.
"Argh! Just you wait, new girl. I'll get you someday!" she said as she walked out of the room.
"You'll never beat me at it." I shouted to her.
I think I heard her say "shut up!"
"That was a nice way to teach her a lesson, Akane-chan. Would you mind to introduce yourself to the class?"
I walked up to the front of the class and faced them. They were looking at me eagerly waiting for my introduction.
"My name is Akane Hayami. Nice to meet you and please guide me along the way." I looked at them with no expression and everyone gave me a round of applause. Some even whistled which I think was weird.
I went back to my seat and when I did the principal made his way to the door. Then he suddenly said,
"Akane-chan. Please tell me if you have any difficulties with anything, kay?"
"Yeah, sure." I gave him a glare and that reassured him that my day would perfectly be fine. Well, at least that's what he thought.
